Total Badasses: Wario

Look at Wario, man. He has ALL the coins. Awesome. He probably got that treasure by doing some "nefarious deeds", or something. Wario pretty much follows the generic-incompetent-bad-guy-who-resembles-his-nemesis... villain formula, which in this case, relates to nemesis Super Mario. Resembles, in that they both appear to be middle aged, working class Italian men working for similarly uniformed plumbing companies. Regardless, in their historic confrontations, Wario always managed to fall flat on his face in attempts to get the best of Mario. This relationship stood, until he was credited with his own franchise, the WarioLand and subsequent WarioWear series.

Ever since, Wario has seemed like a favourite of the Nintendo creative team, taking on more of an 'antihero' persona, and generally starring in some pretty entertaining games. I like the guy.

He has such an amazing laugh, too:

Great stuff. With a laugh like that, no wonder he gets all the treasure.

Wholesome Fun #3

Board games! Board games are totally wicked. They're such a pure "box full of fun". All you need is your buds and a sweet board game and your night is totally set. They should totally become a new "fad". Instead of going out and binge drinking, the Australian youth should have some fuckin' fun with board games.

When I was a young boy, my family bought this obscure board game called "Escape the Blob", and to this day I have such great memories of it. Basically each player was one of these little coloured alien balls, on an alien planet. Each player had to survive the longest without being eaten by the evil Blob. It was a simple "roll the dice and move so many spaces" kinda game, but my family played the shit out of it. So great. I miss it.

I could totally get into more "advanced" board games. Check this out. How much do you just wanna "play" that:

"World Number One"

Being the "world number one" in anything is downright awesome. Roger and Tiger are good examples, but the lesser known ones are the ones which are really badass. For example, the third guy there is Magnus Carlsen, who is the world number one in chess right now. Chess. So badass. Imagine thinking to yourself, "I am world number one in chess, I can beat every person in the world in chess". World number one.

There are probably some even more awesome ones. Like board games. Imagine being world number one in "Monopoly". Would that be badass? I think it would. You'd read a story about how the world number one Monopoly player was "recruited" by a big corporation, because somehow his or her Monopoly skills transfer to real life.

I want to be world number one in something, no matter how seemingly insignificant. Its such a cool concept.
